PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island - Deutsche Post Ventures has become a partner of MediaSec Technologies GmbH in Essen, Germany, a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics. MediaSec Technologies develops solutions centering on digital watermarking for document security (e.g., identification cards) and on security of multimedia content (e.g., video recordings). The company’s patented watermarking technology is a leader in the world marketplace and is used by well-known international businesses. The Venture Capital business of Deutsche Post is continuing its strategy of partnerships to promote young businesses that are active in fields closely connected to Deutsche Post World Net. However, this additional information can be detected with the use of respective computer software. The watermark can guarantee that a document has not been altered and is authentic in both the digital and paper versions, thus preventing manipulation and guaranteeing protection. MediaSec Technologies is concentrating on the authenticity of documents, offering solutions in the following fields: “MediaSign Print” imports digital watermarks into valuable document and packaging to protect brand and to increase security against forgery. “MediaSign Digital” is used for digital photos or videos to guarantee authenticity and prevent forgery of digital recordings, so that they can be used as legal evidence.
